>> Aerith & Nanaki Farewell Event
Posted by Aderyn on January 23, 2010 at 5:11 PMComments(131)
Going to run a very simple farewell event for both Aerith and Nanaki before they are both officially closed and put behind us. It was unfortunate we couldn't have a proper event before during the DDoS attacks, so I wanted to run one now.

Last chance to see your old characters, take screenshots, and possibly get contact information for old friends.

When?

January 30th, 2010 around 7 PM GMT +1 (CET).

Feel free to float ideas for what we can do that day as part of the event. Nothing too complicated, though.

>> Fall Squash Event

Get ready to experience the Fall Squash event!

As explained by the official site:
Quote:
Gardener Fordson recently got a great deal on a warehouse full of magical squash seeds. Determined to grow them all during the summer season, he has sent Buzz the Cat to the villages of Aden and Elmore to recruit some adventurers with green thumbs to harvest the entire crop.

Fallen Pollen

Pollen will fall from defeated monsters that are near your level of experience. Trade your stock of pollen to Buzz the Cat for enchanted seeds and grow your own magical squash. After planting a seed, feeding the Young Squash enough pollen will make it grow. You must then break it open to reap your prize! Hitting a squash before it has fully grown will cause it to wilt from lack of nutrition, so be careful. Also, since these magical squash tend to flee, try to crack it open before it gets away.

Large squash can't be pried open with a regular weapon. Chrono souvenir weapons must be used, and remember that a large squash requires many people in order to break it before it escapes. Chrono Darbukas can be purchased from Buzz the Cat during this event in exchange for your gathered pollen.

Prizes can include potions, armor and weapon enchantment scrolls, soul crystals, and more. You must work to break the squash open quickly or the squash will vanish.

Good luck!
This event will run from November 18 at 6:00 am to November 25 at 6:00 am. Buzz the Cat will stay in town until November 28 at 6:00 am to allow you to trade pollen in for seeds.

All posted times are based on the server time which is Central Standard Time, US. Currently, that is GMT -6.

Have fun!

>> Unplanned Downtime / Squash Event
Posted by Aderyn on November 4, 2009 at 5:12 AMComments(33)
Just wanted to apologize for the unplanned downtime tonight.

What caused the downtime?

Our SQL server machine was force rebooted, and because of this there was a software issue we had to address, as well as doing some database integrity checking.

We were down for a couple hours, mostly due to the software issue I mentioned before.

Everything is now back online, without data loss, and should be fine in the future. If you want to report any "strange" issues after this downtime, please leave a reply in this thread.

Squash event!

I was planning to run this earlier, but got busy with real life (yes, I do have one!). I will announce the exact dates and times in another announcement, but do look for that event in the next week or so
